Warm and timeless restaurant interior in Ronse
For this project in Ronse, we realized, in collaboration with Inside, an atmospheric hospitality interior that focuses on character and comfort. The combination of rough brick walls, soft curtains and warm indirect lighting creates an inviting setting. The dark ceiling and large steel windows give it a contemporary, almost industrial look without feeling cold. Photography was provided by photographer Zeger Haelemeesch.
Thoughtful loose furniture with natural materials
The furniture plays a leading role in this interior. We chose solid wood with a pronounced grain structure. This gives each table a unique look and extra depth to the whole.
The chairs are finished in dark stained wood, which contrasts nicely with the lighter floor and walls. The seats are covered with a durable, woven fabric in a soft natural tone. That fabric has a pleasant feel, is hard-wearing and suitable for intensive use in the hospitality industry. The rounded backrest and armrests provide extra seating comfort, which is important in a restaurant where guests stay at the table longer.
At the bar, we chose slim bar stools with a light metal frame. The fine lines give an airy effect and prevent the bar from becoming visually too heavy. The seating surfaces are covered in a soft, bouclé-like fabric that adds warmth to the sleek design. The contrast between the light base and the warm, indirectly lit bar enhances the feeling of coziness.
Balance between raw and refined
The combination of brick, plaster and textiles creates a strong balance between rough and refined. Transparent curtains act as a subtle separation between different zones while improving acoustics. Small table lamps on the wooden tops bring additional intimacy to the space.
This project shows how thoughtful project design is more than just placing furniture. It is about choice of materials, proportions and atmosphere. By choosing quality materials and timeless design, an interior is created that will last for years and retain its radiance.
